WHAT IS INCLUDED IN A “FIXED-ALL-IN” RATE?
When you see an electric rate labeled as “Fixed-All-In“, it typically includes the following components:
Fixed Energy Rate:
The cost per kilowatt-hour (kWh) remains fixed for the entire contract term, providing protection against market fluctuations and ensuring predictable, stable pricing.
Delivery & Transmission Charges:
These charges cover the cost of moving electricity from generation sources through the transmission grid to your local utility. In an “All-In” rate, these costs are typically bundled into the total price.
Distribution Fees:
Charged by your local utility company, these fees cover the final delivery of electricity to your location. These are generally included as part of the overall “All-In” rate structure.
Taxes & Surcharges:
Applicable state and local taxes, along with regulatory surcharges used to maintain and improve the electric grid, may be incorporated into the total rate.
Administrative Fees:
Certain plans may include administrative costs—such as billing, customer service, and account management—which are often built into the “All-In” rate.
A Fixed “All-In” electric contract provides a consistent, fixed rate per kilowatt-hour (kWh) for the entire term of the agreement. This rate is calculated by averaging the total projected cost over the contract term based on expected usage.
The “All-In” rate typically includes:
● Energy supply charges
● Monthly base or service fees
● Applicable energy credits
● Transmission and delivery charges (TDU/TDSP), including both fixed fees and usage-based rates
By combining these components into a single rate, a Fixed “All-In” plan simplifies billing and delivers predictable, stable pricing—helping protect against market volatility and unexpected cost fluctuations throughout the contract term.
Note: While Fixed “All-In” products are designed to provide a comprehensive and predictable rate, certain utility-imposed charges—such as capacity fees or other regulated pass-through costs—may still apply and are outside of supplier control.
